After looking for a shower gel that is kind to eczema prone, highly sensitive and dry skin (yes I am full of kin-issues), I ended up near the section where they had deodorants.
Now I have always been a loyal Sure Stick Deodorant fan since as far back as I can remember, it has never let me down. However I have always been quite ignorant when it comes to looking at the ingredients of the product in fact I have turned a blind eye to it- not good.
So when I came across Mineral deodorants in Whole foods I could not ignore the benefits compared to my trusty yet toxic Sure stick. Now in the past I have known about this product but never really ventured into making a purchase, one of the main reasons being that its a little on the expensive side and also i was not sure how to use it. After alot of umm and ahhs I made the purchase and bought two both very similar but one being more award winning.
Now here comes the ups and downs of using Mineral deodorants:
* 100% Natural ingredients.
* No white marks.
* Great for Vegans and Vegetarians.
*Mineral deodorants claim to work by not blocking the toxins that are released from your armpits as this can cause imbalance and a build up of bacteria that leads to odour.
* No chemicals therefore you are not putting any toxins on to your skin.
*Long lasting product that can last longer than the usual stick, spray deodorants.
*Yes it is alot more on the expensive side.
* A little more fussy to use as you need to either wet the product before putting it on your skin or use straight after taking a shower on damp skin.
*Quite hard to find in your average supermarket so don't expect to find this at your local market.
*I am not sure how hard this product would work if you are living in a hot country.
Both products are equally good and as I have been using Mineral deodorants for just under a month now, I have not found any disadvantages apart from the price being a little steep.
Its a small change but one that can make a big difference in the long term. God I sound like a hippy but I do think there are a lot of people that are unaware or maybe like myself too scared to know the truth behind certain products we use on a daily basis.
Now going to try and see if I can convert anyone else to making the change.....
